West Clark Community Schools consists of three high schools, (Silver Creek High School is 9-12, Borden High school, and Henryville Jr. Sr. High School, are 7-12) one separate Middle School (Silver Creek Middle School, grades 6, 7 & 8), and 3 elementary schools: Silver Creek Elementary in Sellersburg, Borden Elementary, and Henryville Elementary.
Juniors and seniors have the option of attending C.A. Prosser School of Technology half a day in order to learn a skilled trade. Approximately thirty career areas, such as Auto Collision, Building Trades, Computer Programming, and Cosmetology are offered. The job placement rate is quite successful; although more vocational students are now choosing to further their education also.
Within three or four miles of the West Clark boundary, also, is the campus of Indiana University Southeast, which offers a wide range of baccalaureate and masters degree programs. The University of Louisville is ten miles from Sellersburg. Additionally, several other colleges and universities are located within easy driving distance.
Located in Sellersburg is the Southern Indiana campus of Indiana Vocational Technical College, which serves as a further bridge between high schools, the work place, and four-year colleges. Its increasing enrollment is testimony to its success.
