Chief Financial Officer (Classified)

Provide overall leadership for the business functions of the school Corporation. Provide direct supervision of the Corporation deputy treasurer and accounting staff. Develop improvements in the financial management of the school corporation. Develop budget guidelines and coordinates preparation of the budget. Ensure that all Corporation financial transactions comply with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Participate in teacher contract negotiations. Responsible for building and asset management. Direct, manage and oversee the bidding process for contracts related to business/office machines, equipment, banking services, P/C insurance, copiers, and employee benefits. Assist in the supervision of the school treasurers. Oversees the contracts for service vendors. Assist with long range planning for facilities. Advise the Superintendent and school board on all matters of Corporation financial conditions. Develop appropriate procedures to monitor current and future expenditures. Develop appropriate financial reports and reporting procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting. Master’s Degree or CPA preferred. Must be bondable. 10 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles required. 5 years of school finance experience preferred. Experience with budget development, forecasting, tax reporting and audits.
